OTC was established in 1973 in Osaka. Branch offices were opened in Tokyo in 1982 and Nagoya in 1988.
Since 1973, OTC has been supporting its client companies in fostering the development of their employees as
global business people.
OTC provides various English-language services to a wide range of companies in Japan. It mainly conducts
corporate English classes for company employees at their place of work.
Our client companies are major Japanese enterprises. They include many of Japan's largest firms. Their lines of business include general trading, electronics, engineering, chemical manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, insurance, and food production to name a few.
OTC English courses are tailored to clients' needs and requests. In general, the types of courses are regular courses (weekly or bi-weekly), private lessons and intensive courses. OTC plans and designs training programs to provide the most suitable courses to our clients.
We provide various skills courses according to our clients' needs.
We provide flexible training courses in other languages according to the students' needs, level and availability.
We are involved in teaching academic courses to enrolled students as well as other extracurricular courses offered by tertiary institutions to members of the community.
We dispatch part-time or full-time instructors to help with English communication courses. The instructor's role at the school is to help and support students in developing their English communication skills and improve their cultural literacy.
We provide writing courses to improve students' writing communication skills. We also provide academic proofreading sessions for students who are attending conferences and giving presentations.
OTC hires qualified, experienced and professional native instructors at various times of the year for both part-time and full-time positions. In regards to prospective employees' qualifications, all instructors should be first-language speakers of the language they are expected to teach. They should hold a minimum of a university degree or an equivalent academic qualification. Exceptions may be made where candidates can demonstrate substantial experience and ability in ESL/EFL teaching. In all cases, candidates will have to submit evidence of academic qualifications and details of any prior professional employment. Part-time instructors must be living in Japan and hold an appropriate visa.
Successful candidates will be required to undertake in-house training sessions for teaching, interview testing, correspondence course management and additional follow-up training as required.
